WC-Water Closet or is it??

hi
In this blog i would like to share a joke which i had read long back when i was in school. This is real fun to read and i hope u ppl enjoy it as much as i did when i read it the first time. This is truly hilarious and on could say a perfect example of miscommunication.
Now read on.....

An English Lady, while visiting India was looking for a room and she asked the schoolmaster if he could recommend one.He took her to see several rooms and everything was settled, the lady returned to her home to make the final preparations to move.
Back in England,it occurred to her that she had not inquired about a water closet(which in Indian terms means Lavatory). So she wrote to the schoolmaster asking if there was a WC conveniently situated.
The schoolmaster who did not understand the abbreviation, sought the help of a local priest and together they came to the only conclusion that WC was - Wayside Chapel. The schoolmaster then wrote the followin letter to English lady.....

Dear Madam,
I take gr8 pleasure in informin u that the WC is situated 9 miles from the house in the centre of a beautiful grove of pine trees, surrounded by lovely grounds.
It has a seating capacity of 229 people and open only on Sundays and Thursdays.A number of people are expected for the summer months so,I suggest u come early enough, although, there is plenty of standing room. This is an unfortunate situation especially if u have the habit of going there regularly.
You would no doubt be glad to know that a gud number bring their lunch and make a good day of it.I would especially recommend that your ladyship go there on Thursdays,as there is an organ accompaniment. The accoustics are excellent and the most delicate sounds are heard everywhere.
It may be of interest to u to know that my daughter was married in the WC and it was there she first met her husband.I could still remember the rush there was 4 seats. There are 10 people to a seat, usually occupied by one.It is wonderful to see the expressions on their face.
The latest attraction is a bell donated by a wealthy resident. It rings every time a person enters.A buzzer is to be held to provide plush seats for all,as the ppl feel tht it is a long felt need.My wife is rather delicate so she can't attend regularly. It is almost a year since she went last.Naturally it pains her as she is not able to attend more often.
I will be delighted to reserve the best seat for you,if u wish to be seen by all.For children there is a special time and place so that they will not disturb the elders.
Hoping to be of good service to u.
Yours sincerely
The schoolmaster

Paint it yellow

hi there!
Last sunday i saw an amazing movie and i read a great book, on the same day.Now that does not happen too often. It felt good and i felt lucky to have got both of them on the same day.
Let me start off with the movie which was Rang de Basanti,by the way. There had been so much hype created about this movie and so many controversies on the eve of the movie release, which was enough to provoke interest on the moviebuffs and to top it all the awe-inspiring music by ARRahaman.I was with an open mind when i entered the theatre which was Six degrees satyam, primarily becoz of the fact that i had spent abt 110 bucks 4 the movie ticket and i wanted to atleast get my money's worth, which reminds me of a program on NDTV,few weeks back, that featured all the actors of the movie and the college students of Delhi were to shoot questions on them.I remember one fellow said that he preferred seeing movies enjoyable like Dil Chahta Hai and inspiring ones like "Black",he asked Aamir Khan whether would he get his money's worth after watchin RDB and Aamir promised him saying that he would simply reimburse the money he spent if he didn't like the movie. Now it was not the promise that caught my attention but the point which Aamir made was, this movie wud be as entertaining as the other 2 .Both Dil Chahtha hai and Black were among my list of favorite movies and yes both were trendsetters in their own ways.
At the end of the movie, to say that i got my money's worth would be an understatement. The movie aimed at making one point very clear which was the role of the youth in the nation's development and it has been presented in a way that evoked mixed reactions among people. While comin out of the movie,i heard one fellow saying that the movie is politically incorrect, but i seriously doubt any other ending would have left such an impact on the minds of the audience as the movie's climax. It had people talking about the movie even after people left the theatres, which i feel very few movies are able to create such impact on ppl.The comfort level the guys share shows on screen and gives the feel of a real college gang of friends. And how Sue is able to see the characters of her movie in these men has also been shown well.
Above all, the movie ends with the followin dialogue, to which i totally fell for
"There are 3 kinds of men that i know
1 Those who go to there deaths screamin
2Those who go to there deaths in silence
And then I came to know about the third"

BOOKS-They make a gr8 companion

hello there!!!
I'm a bookworm and books are my favorite passtime.John Grisham, Sheldon and Fredrick Forsyth are the authors I read often.
Now that list does not figure an Indian author becos of the simple reason that I've never read any works of Indian authors.
The fact is u ask bookworms(particularly youngsters), 8 out of 10 would say that they had not really tried any Indian author.Belonging to a country that has a big history behind from which great epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharatha have originated, it is surprising that our Indian authors are preferred only secondary to foreign authors.
John Grisham is known for his portrayl of court scenes, in his books.Though most of his books are based on lawyers and court scenes, there have also been some mind-blowing thrillers like "The Pelican Brief","The Client" etc..These books are must-reads of Grisham. The best book though i have read is "The Runaway Jury".The best part in Grisham's books are the details. In the Runaway jury, which was the 1st book of Grisham that i read, i was totally impressed with the ending .
I think nobody can beat Sheldon for his pace in narration. My personal favorite is "If tommorrow comes".That book was truly amazing.Though, most Sheldon fans will insist that his best book is "Tell Me Your Dreams",I wud still go for "If tommorrow comes",I donno why but i liked it better.
Forsyth is one author who I feel had his influences on many authors like Jeffrey Archer. His best is undoubtedly "The Day of the Jackal".Although i have been told his "Shepherd" is also a non-put-downable.I've not read the book but just the glimpse of the story.
Recently I read the book "One Night @ the Call Centre" by the author Chetan Bhagat, this was my first book by an Indian author. This book was about 6 ppl workin in a call centre and how ,a phone call they receive from "God" one night, changes their lives entirely.I enjoyed this book. Now the concept of involving God in the story may sound going beyond reality, but i feel only an Indian author would dare to handle this.In fact the book is worth reading from the Epilogue, and till the Prologue. One thing unique with Indian author books is that we could identify with the characters, their emotions , the places etc...Especially,in this book the story has characters who are based in Delhi. The author's portrayal of Delhi has been really gud that, though I've never been to Delhi ,I was able to identify with the place. Now this would not be the same if I read a novel that has its characters based in London or New York. The concept was also new, fresh, something rare yet convincing.I would certainly say it is worth reading once, though it is not a non-put downable like Da vinci Code and the likes..,yet it does holds your attention right from the beginning.Right now,I'm in the hunt for the author's 1st book called"Five Point Someone",which i was told was good too. After reading this book I felt we need to read more Indian authors.
Ghosh when i start talkin about books I simply cannot find myself to stop.Anyways i promise to keep my next blog shorter:-)
